I am a fully qualified and accredited counsellor and psychotherapist, practicing since 1998. I am accredited with IACP.
I established my private practice here in Naas in 2006. As a counsellor / psychotherapist I work with individuals, and groups. I have garda vetting clearance through IACP.
Some of the areas I work include: relationship difficulties, identity, recurring patterns in life that leave us unhappy, stress & anxiety, bullying, self- esteem, depression, suicidal ideation, post-natal depression, sexuality, sexual trauma, loss & bereavement.
My clients come from all backgrounds and age groups including: adults, schools, groups, parents, students, psychotherapists & counsellors in training.
Since 2001 I have run self-esteem programmes and counselling services for adolescents at post primary level. For 9 years I was with the Community Links Programme at DIT, for the past 10 years I have run the Bright Programme in Trinity Comprehensive Ballymun.
My degrees in psychology and post grad Dip Business are from UCD. In London I was awarded my Cert and Master’s degree at Birkbeck College, University of London in Psychodynamic Counselling. More recently I have been awarded a Diploma in Group work Practice from The School of Psychotherapy at St Vincents’ U.H.. My theoretical orientation uses object relations theorists such as Winnicott, Klein, Freud and group analytic theorists including Foulkes.
I have embarked on a new clinical training in group analytic psychotherapy at the School of Psychotherapy in St Vincents’ Hospital. Under the supervision of the course I run an analytic psychotherapy group here at the centre. I have a separate section that gives more information about this and other groups . I hold student membership with IGAS.
My professional indemnity insurance is with PPS.
