Meeting Your Therapist

Home / Meeting Your Therapist

The first step, making contact, can sometimes be difficult.  The following is a guide outlining what happens when you call or email us at the Basin Street Centre.

Evelyn Hainsworth, Katherine Liston and Fiona Masterson are looking after initial enquiries to the centre.

One of us will make contact with you as soon as we can. We will talk briefly with you about your reasons for seeking counselling or psychotherapy and the time of day when you are available to meet your therapist.  This will help to match you with the most suitable therapist within the practice.  If you have a preference to see a particular therapist, every effort will be made to accommodate your request.

It is our belief that finding the right therapist for you lays the best foundations for your therapeutic treatment.  We will provide you with the name and contact number of your therapist, also providing them with your contact details.  They can contact you that same day or alternatively if you prefer, you can make the initial contact.  From there your therapist will arrange a mutually convenient appointment as soon as possible and the process has begun.

If you have any questions at any point during this process, you can contact us or ask your therapist for more information.

Every therapist at The Basin Street Centre aims to provide the highest standard of clinical work possible. We all fully adhere to the standards set out by our respective accrediting body and are subject to annual re-accreditation assessment thereby ensuring we continue to attain our high standards.

We promote best practice through continual professional development, clinical supervision and peer clinical support.
