A Safe Place to Self-Heal
I have practiced Art Therapy in educational settings with children of primary school age, adolescents, and young adults. I have worked with clients with dementia in a hospital setting and patients in a psychiatric setting.
Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy where art materials are offered to the client, so that they may express themselves within the session. Within the safety of the space and by forming a relationship with the therapist emotions can be explored through the art. The art is a way of communicating, through the metaphor and symbolisms of the created piece.
I believe that everybody deserves a space where they feel safe to discover things about themselves which will enhance and enrich their future lives.
- Art therapy is suitable for adults and children.
- prior experience of art is not necessary.
- Each session is 50 mins long and takes place weekly.
